The Garden Book

I bought this beautiful, hand made Italian book (from Il Papiro in Degraves Street Melbourne) for us to use as our garden record. I want to put things like, when something flowers or when to sow or fertilize etc. Plus maybe which year a certain tree was planted. Of course, like everything I do, it gets bigger than Ben Hur and I've started illuminating the pages, sort of thing.
The paper is gorgeous! Proper watercolour paper or some thing like, and the cover is hand marbled. So amazing! I took ages to choose.

This is the front piece, which I will write our names or the garden address or some such thing.

More of the One True's amazing rock work.

 Home

Hubby's painting and my lace. Peek of a gorgeous green vase my Grandma lay-byed in the 50's.

A few of my favourite things: Damian Meehan Little Man in a Box, Mum's Weight Lifter doll, Boxes by Katherine Hepburn lookalike (sorry, I've forgotten your name), vintage millinary flowers from the family inheritance (i.e. from Mum via Grandma via her Mum Nanna), Op-Shop grave ornament ceramic flower, embossing stamps from Paris and old old doiley's from goodness knows where.

Deborah Klein Linocut Print. Bought with a gift from Jean Goldberg, given for that purpose.

The Painting I carried For 10 kilometres Through Paris

He's a bit of a gay boy huh? Or is it just the times, the court etc. It's not old old old, so it's a copy of a style, but I really like him and he's going in the bedroom when it's renovated. Why not now? Well, it needs a little restoring and I might bling it up a little. And I'll have to convince the One True, who doesn't like it.

For My Son (Thinking About The Nice Boys (Trevor & Ugo)

I can't wait for birthdays anymore. I just gave my kids some facewashers, 'Robot Parts' and a picture each. Frames from the $2 type shops for $22 and as good as a real one. They have the boxed thingy which looks good and is suitable for textiles too. I might buy a few and make a fist of it to put some in a cafe or something? Available through Etsy.

By Ross McLeod

Just scanned, so it's a bit shiny and hard to see, but you get the drift. Circa don't know, but before we were together, maybe just, and that's over 9 years...

Jaden 2006

From a photo and my pencil, which tends to the morbid at times?? But I love big fat vegemite cheeks. I could say that it is an interpretation of his image.

Just Uploaded My Pictures...

Aah! it feels good to have gotton around to stuff!
Go and have a look at my pictures. The moods vary, so don't be frightened.
This picture here was inspired by a time when we (Titchy Rowe and I) were caught playing along the trainline when I was a very little girl. Little enough to believe Mum when she said a little bird had told her. There were so many birds down the bush, it was no use, I thought, we couldn't get away with anything. I can still remember the vision of little birds flitting about that passed through my mind.
When I made this lino cut, I gave one print to Mum and Dad. Mum said she'd been fooled by the same story when she was as small. She was with a little friend, and they decided to go an absolutely forbidden way home from school. It was past the air raid shelter, during war time. Mum said they stood there in the forbidden, exciting place, and said every swear word they knew... 'Stick it up your jumper', 'Gee Whiz', 'Holy Cow', 'Strewth', 'Sugar'. Then a bird flew off and she was sure they were sprung. She was petrified for weeks!
